Terms of Use and Legal Notices

Last updated: 16 October 2026. By using Money Tracker (the “Service”) you accept the rules below. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

• Money Tracker is a free helper tool for keeping your own notes about expenses, income, budgets and savings goals.
• The Service is not a bank, a payment institution, a financial intermediary, or a financial, investment, tax or legal adviser. It does not make transfers, hold money or have access to your bank accounts.
• Amounts, balances, budgets, forecasts and charts in the Service are calculated solely from data that you enter or import yourself. They may differ from the state of your real accounts.

2. No warranty and limitation of liability

• The Service is provided “as is”, with no guarantee that it will work without interruptions or errors, or that calculations and forecasts are correct or complete.
• The author of the Service is not liable for losses, damages or decisions (including financial ones) resulting from use of the Service, from errors or unavailability of the Service, from loss or corruption of data, or from the content of articles and guides – to the fullest extent permitted by law.
• You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Before important decisions, check the data with your bank and, if needed, consult a qualified professional.
• These terms do not exclude or limit rights you have under mandatory provisions of law (including consumer rights), nor liability that cannot be excluded by law.

3. Your data and backups

• Data (transactions, categories, budgets, goals, accounts, settings) is stored locally in your browser, on your device. The author of the Service has no access to it and does not store it on a server.
• Data may be lost, e.g. after clearing browser data, in private mode, when changing the site address, device or browser, or because of a failure. Therefore download a backup (JSON file) regularly – you are responsible for making and keeping it.
• Data is not synchronized between devices. Loading a backup replaces the data stored in the browser.

4. Privacy

• The Service does not require an account and does not collect your financial data. The Service may fetch public data from external sources, e.g. exchange rates from the National Bank of Poland API; for such a request your browser connects to that server and may pass it, among other things, your IP address.
• The hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process standard technical data related to visits to the site (e.g. IP address, server logs) in accordance with its own policies.
• The Service stores in the browser only the data necessary for the application to work (local storage) and does not set cookies itself.
• The Service uses Cloudflare Web Analytics – anonymous visit statistics (e.g. number of visits, country, device and browser type, page load time, the page you came from). The tool does not use cookies, does not build user profiles and has no access to the data you enter in the tracker. If other external tools appear in the future, this section will be updated accordingly.
• Google AdSense ads are shown in News and Guides (except guides about the app itself). Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads – to the extent you agree to in the consent dialog. You can change your choice at any time. No ads are shown in the finance tracker, and the data you enter there is never shared with advertisers. More: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

5. Articles, guides and links

• Articles, guides, news and other content are for information and education only. They are not advice, a recommendation or an offer within the meaning of investment advice regulations, nor tax or legal advice.
• The Service may contain links to external sites. The author is not responsible for their content or for the services offered there. Any sponsored content or affiliate links will be clearly marked.

6. Rules of use

• You may use the Service only in accordance with the law and for your own purposes. It is prohibited, among other things, to bypass the Service’s safeguards, disrupt its operation, or copy content in order to publish it as your own.

7. Copyright

• The code, design and content of the Service are protected by copyright unless stated otherwise. You may use them within the Service for your own use.

8. Changes

• The author may change the Service and these Terms, including introducing new features and changing or withdrawing existing ones. Significant changes will be announced in the Service; continued use means acceptance of the new version.
